Story

My running journey begun a number of years ago when I was
diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I could have just accepted the typical course of treatment available but no, I was not going to, be labelled as a diabetic.

So I took control lost weight and begun exercising which eventually layed the way for my journey into running. My speed and distance was not a goal for a number of years but just going out, enjoying the St.Albans Park Run at weekends and  taking on the challenge of beating my Simon at the finishing line. On top of that I would  go out for a casual  run around the block nothing more then 5k or thereabouts .

Then two years ago I decided to join a female running club to
see if i could meet like minded runners. I then realised, there was more to running and that speed, endurance, stamina, sprints, hill reps were necessary and the initial pain gave way to me getting stronger, running faster and further. I was now running after work in the dark, cold and wet evenings and with lights.  I was enjoying my running
and with other women who I could chat and run with. I starting to talking running as hubby talked footy what was happening to me!! Could I achieve another goal, taking me out of my comfort zone pushing me further?

It was when my darling niece Sam, said, “ Aunty would you run a
half marathon for Future Dreams” I thought about it, not believing someone like me could achieve a half marathon let alone run that far.  A fantasy so I thought, I was flattered to have been asked, and said Yes. What Yes! So that is what my next running challenge is, The Royal Parks Half Marathon in October 2019  which I find it hard to believe.

So please could you give to this very worthy cause which is an
amazing breast cancer charity Future Dreams that does amazing work. Please give generously as this is a very worthwhile charity.  If you want to read any further information about this charity please goggle Future Dreams which explains their work and who they support.
