Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
The Cynthia Spencer Hospice charity shop on St Leonard’s Road, Northampton has been affected by a number of break ins at the store and on each occasion it costs hundreds of pounds just for repairs. I am hoping to raise enough money for said repairs and possibly towards some security for the shop.
Firstly, please be advised that I have no affiliation with the store or Cynthia Spencer either. However, I do have a vested interest in the charity after my Grandmother was diagnosed with brain cancer last June and was taken care of by the charity when she became a patient in the Hospice for palliative care. The hospice not only took exceptional care of her during her last days, they made her feel like a friend rather than a patient and made her smile on her difficult days. They also accepted our family with open arms, facilitating things such as a large family picnic on their grounds and allowed us to bring her dogs in to visit and spend time with her. They also offered the family help and support and made sure we were always kept informed and involved in all decisions. The word hospice conjures up a somber, dismal, sad place full of tears and anguish, however the Cynthia Spencer Hospice was a serene, welcoming, light and spirited place where laughter and joy filled the place. It aggrieves me that anyone could have to resort to stealing from a charity, especially one that has done such amazing things for local residents.
If you are unable to donate money, donations of goods/clothes etc would be greatly appreciated at the store. Also any companies/tradesmen or such that could provide any security services or offer repairs, please contact me.
Thanks in advance.
