Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Our beautiful daughter, Summer, was born in Macclesfield at the end of June, and was rushed to Liverpool Women's Hospital the same day with meconium aspiration syndrome (MAS).

We couldn't be more grateful to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at LWH for saving her life and allowing us to stay in the hospital with her. Being able to be by her side made this difficult time more bearable.

We would also like to thank the staff for answering our constant stream of questions, at any time of the day and for showering her with love and care throughout her time there.

By way of thanks, a group of our friends are walking from Liverpool to Macclesfield (over 40 miles), to raise money directly for the NICU at LWH.

Summer is now home and going from strength to strength. We will be forever grateful and we hope to raise funds so that they can continue to provide the same amazing care for other babies in need in the future.

About the charity

The aim of Liverpool Women's Charity is to raise funds to improve the care and support given to the patients and their families. Money raised helps to provide services and facilities above what is normally provided through NHS funding.
