Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Update:
As a final piece of madness during my leave I am taking on the Fan Dance Race organised by AEE over Pen y Fan on the Brecon Beacons. This is a course used by the military for part of the Special forces selection. I will be taking part on Sunday 17th Jan and at present there is snow on the mountain and a wind chill of -11.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
I've chosen to take my long leave from work, which gives me 6 months paid leave so I've decided to fill it with adventure. I am self funding the challenge of trekking up Mount Kilimanjaro in order to raise awareness and much needed funds, so all donations to my page go direct to the charity. Prostate cancer has taken my Dad and Grandad both before their time and I don't want to be next in line. I have three boys who need to know I'm doing all I can to ensure we don't become a statistic.
In the UK, about 1 in 8 men will get prostate cancer at some point in their lives.
Please help me to help the men in the world and give us a fighting chance. I want to give men the chance my Dad and Grandad were deprived of, seeing there family's grow and grow up. #menunited
