DMU Drama 'Maryland' script-in-hand performance

Elinor Parsons is raising money for Leicester Rape Crisis Centre

DMU Drama 'Maryland' script-in-hand performance · 25 November 2021

We raise funds for Jasmine House to support women after sexual violence

Story

Lucy Kirkwood's Maryland was originally performed at the Royal Court Theatre (7-23 October 2021). She frames the piece with her hesitation 'to even call it a play when it is simply a howl', a way of expressing deep feelings 'about a culture of violence against women'.

De Montfort University Drama students are staging the 30-minute piece in Hall 3 of The Venue (LE2 7BU) on Thursday 25 November at 7.30pm. It’s a cast of 8 students drawn from across all three years of the Drama programme: Charlie Evans, Matt Hill, Chisenga Malama, Sandija Misika, Romy Payne, Ffion Roberts, Mary Whyment and Danielle Zeelie.
