Paralysis. Life. Each day, some people wake up having to think about both. That's why we are here. With medical breakthroughs, technological innovation, and social insight - combined with your support, we can do more to help people to get on with life after paralysis.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm taking part in the Hotchillee Londres - Paris cycling event (http://www.londres-paris.com/) which will be one of the biggest challenges I've ever undertaken - on a bike or off it.  The route covers 520km over 3 days.

Although I have entered this event myself I would like to raise some money for Spinal Research whilst doing it.  It is 25 years since I broke my back in a climbing accident and I have the surgeons in Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, who operated on me at the time, to thank for not being paralysed and for being in the position to be able to undertake this challenge today (plus fixing sundry other 'mishaps' along the years).

Stoke Madeville is one of the 'official' charities of Hotchillee but there is still a link with me and the RIE as the hardware used to repair my back came from there as did the technique.

I would now like to try to give something back in this anniversary year and am therefore asking for you to donate to Stoke Mandeville to help further research into spinal injuries and to help other people to be as lucky as I am.
