Paris Marathon 2018 · 8 April 2018

We’re the only charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK and Channel Islands. That’s why we help children who’ve been abused to rebuild their lives, we protect children at risk, and we find the best ways of preventing child abuse from ever happening.

Story

Thanks for visiting my page.

The opportunity has popped up to run 26-and-a-bit miles in France on a Spring (hopefully sunny) day next year.

I have chosen to raise money for the NSPCC because I am privileged to have grown up around family members and friends who have dedicated their careers to helping protect children, ensuring they grow up in a loving and supportive environment.

Whether they are teachers, social workers, councillors or volunteers, they bravely wade into some dark places to help make vulnerable young lives better.

My Mum's dedication to this cause is a huge inspiration to me. She has worked in children's homes, saved nurseries from closing and helped ensure child safety in London communities throughout her career.  Even as a single parent with twin boys, she has always stepped up! (Seriously - the woman is a machine!)

I will be running the race either way, but it would be a massive boost whilst training and taking on the challenge if I know the effort is raising funds and awareness of a great (and sadly necessary) cause.
