Story
Daisy - Running my first ever marathon for such a great charity, your donations will mean a lot to me, and will help me to stay POSITIVE, especially when overcoming jelly legs. I ran Leeds half back in May and thought I may as well run twice as far. I've been training since then even on holiday. THANK YOU <3
Colin - I entered the Yorkshire Marathon last year when the entries opened following the success of the first year. I was on a running comeback following injury and lots of cycling including LeJog. Things didn't go exactly to plan and further injury at the beginning of the year meant I was out for a few months. I was able to resume in May and after Daisy's half marathon we agreed we would do the Yorkshire Marathon together and share long runs where possible. The Marathon is an adventure which starts with weeks of training and preparation which if not done properly means it's gonna hurt on the day or worse still a DNF or even the walk of shame. By the time Daisy and I line up for the first of 26.2 miles at the start we will have done around 500 miles over 24 weeks so if you support us you sure are getting your moneys worth. The few seconds slight discomfort of the ice bucket challenge pales into insignificance, a Marathon takes real guts, determination and commitment over a long period of time. Please dig deep to support St Leonards a charity very dear to us both because of the way they made Mum (Daisy's nana) as comfortable as possible during the last days of her life. They continue to provide this facility every day of the year and rely totally on donations and support.
Sincere Thanks. Colin
