28 Day Alcohol Free Challenge · 12 April 2018

Here are all varieties of animals at the sanctuary. A few who are suitable are rehomed the others live here for life in a free and natural environment. Animals who have no where else to go come here and they are never put down other than for genuine health reasons. We rely totally on public donations

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

The Alternative Animal Sanctuary has been going for a number of decades in an infomral basis and in 2005 became a registered charity, it's mission is to take in animals no other charities will help, they may be old, ill, ugly or in the case of Staffordshire Bull Terrers and Staffy crosses just 'common' so no one else will take them.

I run the sanctuary on my own and care for around 200 rescued animals, they include horses, dogs, cats, rabbits, terrapins, pigeons, ducks, chickens and geese although there have also been pigs, goats, sheep, degus, hamsters, gerbils, mice, rates, chinchillas, budgies, cockateils adn even on one occassion a Priarie Dog, it all just depends on what needs help at any given time and sadly humans tend to follow particular fashions which is why at the moment Staffordshire Bull Terriers are suffering so badly at the moment in the UK.
Like all small charities the sanctuary is always desperate for funding and goes each month from hand to mouth on the brink of being able to carry on taking in more animals in need. Without continue support and primarily donations the sanctuary could not survive. If you would like to visit the website and see all the animals and more importantly donate some money that could mean the difference between life and death for an animal in need.
There are also links to shops which donate to the sanctuary there and a donate your scrap car scheme as well as information about international challenges you could undertake in aid of the sanctuary.
Thank you for taking the time to learn something about The Sanctuary. Kind Regards Tamara Lloyd
