Neuroblastoma Alliance - Felix White Appeal · 31 December 2012 ·
We will be running the 5k and some of us the 10k, Heroes Run to raise money for my 5 year old cousin Felix. He was diagnosed last year with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma, a rare and very aggressive form of childhood cancer.
All the money that we raise will go towards the funds needed to get groundbreaking treatment from the USA to the UK. This could help save the life of Felix and other children like him.
The run takes place on the 16th of May in Brighton, very near to where Felix lives. We will be dressed as nurses in recognition of the fantastic people who have been looking after Felix.
We would all be very grateful for your support as your money will help save lives
Thankyou
Daisy and the rest of the team

Felix White was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma on Valentine’s Day last year. Neuroblastoma is an extremely aggressive childhood cancer which, in Felix’s case, had started on his adrenal gland and spread to his spine, bone marrow and skull. Since his diagnosis 4 year- old Felix has been going through a relentless series of treatments, including aggressive chemotherapy, surgery and internal radiotherapy. He still has stem cell transplant, high-dose chemo, immunotherapy and antibody treatment to come. As the doctors say, rather appropriately, this is a marathon, not a sprint! Throughout his ordeal Felix has remained in amazing spirits, and has managed to retain his energy and his sense of humour, despite the fact that much of his treatment can have terrible side-effects. He’s a fantastic little boy who’s been an inspiration to all his family and friends.Whilst Neuroblastoma affects around 100 children a year in the , survival rates are low, and the treatment regime is extremely harsh. There is no government funding for research into the disease, and money is desperately needed to improve survival rates and to find treatments that are easier for these little bodies to cope with. New breakthroughs are being made all the time with childhood cancer – Felix is now being treated with drugs that weren’t even available in the 6 months ago – and we feel sure that, given sufficient funding, we can make big strides towards eradicating this terrible disease.
Fortunately Felix is being treated at the Royal Marsden by Professor Andy Pearson, a global expert on Neuroblastoma. He is at the forefront of research into finding a cure, and we want to help him achieve his goal.
