The 2015 Brighton Marathon...and on....and on....

Brighton Marathon 2015 · 12 April 2015 ·
WTF, PMSL and FFS are most likely a few ‘kidz’ acronyms playing across your lips, now that you know I’m hobbling the Brighton Marathon in a couple of weekends time.
What is it, you’re asking, that has persuaded me to swap 6am at The Zap Club* for 9am at Preston Park? Well, nothing has. I’ll be doing both and thereby offering you all a unique sponsorship opportunity.
I’m joking, of course. I should be done at The Zap by 4. No, but seriously folks, I’m undertaking this challenge for a couple of reasons. One is that I got offered a place just a month ago by my friend Andy Hammond, who’s laid up in his armchair, and I thought it was serendipity. A few training runs later, and I’m not too sure…Most importantly, I know I can raise money for Bliss - a cause close to mine and Andy’s heart. Bliss support families with premature or very ill babies, something that Andy and me have personal experience of. The good news is that both Josh and India, with expert support from Bliss and the NHS, are now fighting fit and will doubtless be laughing at me as I struggle round the course.
In the interests of transparency, let’s set out where your money goes. £20 buys me a massage after the race. £50 a decent post-marathon roast dinner with the family in an agreeable South Downs pub. £100 means it can be accompanied by a Cru Bourgeois bottle. Once all that’s been ponied up, we can sort something for charidee. So give generously.
Big marathon love
