Jeff Stelling's March for Men, 2-16 June 2017
Campaign by PROSTATE CANCER UK (RCN 1005541 and in Scotland (SC039332))
In June 2017, with over 600 supporters, we marced from Exeter to Newcastle, St James Park to St James’ Park to help stop prostate cancer being a killer. 15 marathons in 15 days. 400 miles. 40 clubs.

Story

Dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer in June 2012. He
received support and advice from specialist nurses about the treatments available to him and was treated with Brachytherapy, a relatively new form of radioactive treatment that targets the Prostate. This treatment is aided by research funded by Prostate Cancer UK.

Thankfully, he was given the all clear about a year
later. He is now fit and healthy, is a member of the gym and works out running around after his grandkids. He continues to be monitored regularly but thankfully the treatment was a success. He suggested we take part in the walk to help raise funds to aid the charity further. As you can imagine it’s a charity very close to our family’s heart.

Prostate Cancer UK’s March for Men is a series of walking
events raising money to help stop prostate cancer being a killer.
Jeff
Stelling famous for his Sky sports Soccer Saturday programme, is walking almost 400 miles from St James Park Exeter, visiting 40 football clubs in 15 days, finishing at St James Park Newcastle, aiming to raise £500,000. The March sets off on 2 June 2016 and we join him on day 3, 26.8 miles from Swindon Town FC to Forest Green Rovers FC.

In the UK, about 1 in 8 men will get prostate cancer at some
point in their lives. Over 47,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer every year – that’s 130 men every day. Every hour one man dies from prostate cancer – that's more than 11,000 men every year.

£25 could help a man get the
information he needs to make a decision about prostate cancer treatment

£35 could help put a man in touch with
someone who's been through prostate cancer before

£50 could help fund the training for a
health professional to know best practice in prostate cancer care

Any donation will help other men who are facing prostate
cancer, and will be greatly appreciated by the 3 of us and Prostate Cancer UK. Thank you.
