On Saturday 15th December I will be going under the blades of the hair clippers as I shave my hair (yes some of you may say I’ve already lost most of it!) totally off!
Almost 12 months ago two of my best friends Matt and Carl lost their Father who was also a close friend and Brother to me to the disease that seems to be everywhere, affecting everyone and taking our loved ones away from us well before their time, that disease is Cancer.
Alan was a wonderful man, a loyal and devoted husband to Olive, father to Carl and Matt and Grandfather to Jodie, Moo, George and Poppy he was also a good friend of mine and a member of St Peter’s Lodge. This year the Lodges chosen charity is Cancer Research UK and on top of the other fund raising events which we have planned and the regular donations made by the members we have decided to take on a number of challenges in order to raise as much money as possible to help Cancer Research UK with their battle against Cancer.
So, as I sit here looking at an ever thinning bonce of wispy hair I can’t think of a better way to see it off than by making this a positive experience and raising cash for a brilliant, well deserving charity.
Shaving my hair is my choice, those who are affected by Cancer often have no choice as they lose all of their hair as they battle the disease through treatments that are not only painful but also take away a part of people’s identity, their hair.
Please support my cause and dig as deep as you can I would love to hit my target and be able to give a big chunk of money to Cancer Research UK.
