Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm riding for the Natural History Museum at the RideLondon-Surrey 100 this July in order to raise much-needed funds and continue the great work they do in making science and natural history accessible to all.
I have memories of visiting the NHM when I was a child, and being bowled over by the fascinating displays - Dippy the diplodocus, the victorian Hummingbird displays (amazing but very macabre), and others which give us an insight into how research into natural history was carried out in the past, and how it can teach us about the world around us.
My wife and I now make it an annual tradition to visit the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition, which showcases some beautiful, impactful, often heartbreaking images focusing on the natural world and the human impact on this planet.
The NHM and the research they do is invaluable, both in terms of education, and also in informing policy-makers on the impact of human activities on the environment. Donate, and help keep this work going!
High-falutin' ideals aside, as a keen cyclist I'm also really excited to ride the route of the 2012 olympic road race! Hopefully with your help, I will reach my £500+ target and fulfil my ambitions of going zooming up the Mall like a (slightly more aerodynamically curvaceous) Cav!
