Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm doing 2 IRONMAN races in July 2012 (The Outlaw Ironman Triathlon in Nottingham on Sun 1st July and IRONMAN Alp Duez in France on wed 25 July).

Each one of these races on their own is a lifetime achievement but to do two in one month is truly going to be a challenge!

An Ironman Triathlon is one of a series of long-distance triathlon races organized by the World Triathlon Corporation (WTC) consisting of a 2.4-mile (3.86 km) swim, a 112-mile (180.25 km) bike and a marathon 26.2-mile (42.2 km) run, raced in that order and without a break.

You proberbly wondering Why I' am doing this! well it's simple i have watched close family memeber's battle with Cancer during my short lifetime & seen the horrific effect it has on them & those dear to them. Also i had the Honour of serving under the command of the late Major Tony Cork who lost his battle only weeks ago ;-(.

Most Ironman events have a strict time limit of 17 hours to complete the race, where the Ironman race starts at 7:00 AM, the mandatory swim cut off for the 2.4-mile (3.9 km) swim is 2 hours 20 minutes, the bike cut off time is 5:30 PM, and all finishers must complete their marathon by midnight.

So please dig deep and donate what you can!

Thank you so much, every penny really does count.

Kind regards,

Daniel
