Cricket Without Boundaries is dedicated to helping, educating and developing local communities around the world through the spread and growth of cricket. Crucially, CWB also uses cricket as a tool in the fight against AIDS. CWB’s training sessions have at their heart discussion about the disease in terms of prevention, treatment and equality of treatment for those with and without the disease.

Story

As a few of you may know I will be heading out to Uganda in March volunteering for charity Cricket Without Boundaries. CWB is a charity that uses cricket to deliver valuable medical messages in sub-Saharan Africa. It works to reduce HIV transmission, to stop FGM and to promote inclusivity.

CWB has three main goals

- To spread cricket through coaching children and teaching adults how to coach

- To link the sport to health and social messages and incorporate these messages into coaching sessions

- To bring together and empower local communities through cricket.

In order to cover the costs of the project, including transport, accommodation and most importantly the cricket equipment that is left in the country, I am looking to raise a minimum of £975 for the two week trip. This is the major revenue source for the charity and helps to ensure that we can have the biggest possible impact in the two weeks.
