This is the 5th year running I have been fortunate to be part of the Derby County Community Trust Team's annual visit to Kenya.

In the 4 years i've been involved with this project i've help built a perimeter wall to help keep the school secure, built 2 new solid classrooms, plus refurbished 2 classrooms to help provide a better environment in which to learn, distributed school uniform to as many pupils as possible. also provided clothing and shoes to the local schools and people in their community.

Why do I keep going back to Kenya?????..............this is really hard for me to put into words but here goes. If you look through my pictures you will probably think you will have a good idea of what life entails for the kids, they do not do it justice. It is unbelievable and unjust that in 2017 children still live in such extreme poverty. I'm all about giving back and helping in the community.

The children that we are supporting deals with living in the poor suburbs of Nakura, suffering from bad nutrition, health and development. We also support children who have HIV/AIDS and those that have been orphaned and living in a deprived environment.

I am also a part of the DCCT team which a percentage of the donations we raise will go to the Derby County Community Trust. This is a charity that helps a large range of the community e.g.; the disabled, the homeless, anti-gang crime, local schools and more..... They are a none profiting organisation, and they earned National awards for their work in the community. www.derdycountycommunitytrust.co.uk
