Asda Foundation Sheffield Half Marathon 2019 · 14 April 2019 ·
I'm once again going to run the Sheffield half marathon, there are a couple of reasons for this.
Firstly to see if I can haul myself to the finish in a better time then I did back in 2014. But mainly to raise to money for a great cause. This year I've chosen CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) who's aim is to provide support to men with depression who wouldn't usually seek out help. Suicide is the biggest killer of men under 45 in the UK and that is terrifying.
I've personally suffered with poor mental health but thankfully have had the support of people around me to pull me through, some people aren't that lucky. I have known people lose their friends to depression and seen how painful it has been for them. The work that CALM do through support and awareness is vital to turnaround the frightening numbers of male suicide in the UK.
Even if its just a few quid, I would be extremely grateful for any donations. Thank you for reading.
