Daniel's triathlon · 2 March 2014

Cavernoma Alliance UK (CAUK) supports people affected by cavernoma. A cavernoma is a common but often unheard of condition caused by a cluster of abnormal blood vessels in the brain or spine. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for those affected through education, support and research.

Story

Daniel has decided to create his own triathlon to raise funds for Cavernoma Alliance UK as part of his Citizen's Award at school. The plan is to:

Run 2 miles

Swim 4 lengths

Cycle 5 miles

This may not sound like a huge amount but we are not very sporty! This is a challenge for Daniel (and his mum!) and we are in training at the moment. We plan to do the run, swim and cycle on Sunday the 23rd February*. We have measured the distances and will get them checked by our not-entirely-independent adjudicators (Ramin and Clara).

Daniel says "I think people with Cavernoma should be helped because it is rare, disabling and painful."

* Yes, the plan was for the 2nd March but Daniel is now camping in a Nuclear bunker with the scouts. Of course. Plan C: we have a new date of 16th March. All well again now and back in training!
