Story
****New Date - Sunday 21st May 2021****
In June 2019 my family's world was turned up side down when my niece Hannah passed away suddenly aged just 18 months. Hannah was a happy, bright, smiley (except when she saw scary Uncle Dan anyway!) beautiful girl. She has left such a huge hole in all of our lives and I, and we all, miss her so much.
We will never forget her as we all continue to try and move forward without her and I, and all that knew her, are all carrying Hannah's memory with us every single day. One of the ways I am doing this is by running the Chester Half Marathan (a distance I have never attempted let alone run before!) in May 2021 in order to raise money for 2 Wish Upon a Star.
2 Wish Upon A Star is a charity that provides bereavement support for families who have suddenly and traumatically lost a child or young adult aged 25 years and under. When a family loses a child or young adult the effects are devastating for all who knew and loved them. It is important that support is available if and when required. It is important families know that they are not alone and that the feelings they are experiencing are often normal.
2 Wish has been there since the day Hannah passed supporting my sister Jemma, brother in law Irv and niece Charlotte through theirs and all our loss. 2 Wish supports families by, for example, providing play therapy for siblings (Charlotte has been taking part in such sessions), support groups, events for families, complimentary therapies as well as counselling for parents and wider family members. But they are only able to do this through the generosity of the public. If anyone can spare a little change to sponsor me to do this event then please do. Any donation no matter how small would be greatly appreciated and would help 2 Wish continue to do the amazing things they do for families in their darkest hour.
Thank you. 🌈
