Story
Hi all,
I’m running the Richmond marathon on Sunday 15th September, and now it looks as though I will make the start line, I’ve chosen a great charity to run for.
Being type 1 diabetic was the main reason for me to start running in the first place, and living in the U.K. I’m very lucky to have great diabetic support and access to insulin on the NHS.
Insulin is essential for type 1 diabetics to live, and can be difficult to access in developing countries and extremely expensive, making it often unaffordable. The Insulin Dependent Diabetes Trust partners with Insulin for Life to transport unneeded insulin to countries around the world, where it’s needed most.
Any donations large or small would be very gratefully appreciated!
UPDATE: I completed the marathon in a slow and largely unsteady time of 4 hours 49 minutes!
