Always the happiest person in a room and most game for a laugh... Daft as a brush and a lovable idiot... Probably how most of my friends and family know me... For the past two years I’ve struggled with my mental health to the point of attempting suicide on 27th December 2017... I was lucky that my mother, partner and little sister Yasmin found me when they did cos the chances are if they didn’t I wouldn’t be here today to tell the story... I’ve been on and off the sick from work and had some pretty epic breakdowns... Every time just getting my head back above water but never really doing much more... I take Citalopram every day and to be honest if it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t be able to function... Some days it’s a struggle to get out of bed... Motivation to do even the most normal of every day tasks is none existent and the thought of leaving my bedroom or the house is a no go... Not what you’d expect if you had encountered my while out and about... People often say how could you be so selfish to consider suicide but what they don’t realise is when you’re suffering with mental health you don’t see it as selfish because you see yourself as a burden to everyone else and you’d be doing them a favour if you were gone... I’m happy to say I’m on the road to recovery... Rather than just taking the pills I’m actively seeking help to ensure I never feel the need to do that again... No one knows what goes on behind closed doors or what anyone is going through... Be kind always... I am a warrior and every day is a battle... This is my story and it isn’t finished yet!

I’m raising money for Mind as I’d like to give something back and help those who are suffering too. It’s time to end the stigma around mental health.
