Story

Hi, my name is Daniel Orta. I am from Cicero IL in 8th grade I applied for a few scholarships and luckily PEAK gave me a chance. I took that chance and got the scholarship and I am very happy with the decision that I took to take the scholarship. I got an amazing mentor that always asks me about how I'm doing and helps me out. I am making this fundraiser for the next year PEAK scholars to have the same chance that I did. I want others to have a successful future and have amazing mentor.

Hello, I am Steve Sibon and I'm very excited to be participating in the PEAK program by joining Team Daniel as his mentor. With a father and a sister who were both passionate life long educators, I have seen the opportunities that a strong values based education and the right mentoring can offer to a young adult.

Daniel and I both joined PEAK in 2021 and from our first introduction I was very impressed by his commitment to being a successful student while also taking full advantage of the many resources, activities and new friends at Trinity. This fund raising effort will enable PEAK to offer more new scholarships for Holy Trinity's 2022 freshman class. If you are able to contribute know that your generosity will go to a very valuable program. I also committed to Daniel to match the first $500 of donations that we can raise, so bring on those donations so Daniel and I can pay it forward for the wonderful opportunity that PEAK has presented us both with.

About the charity

Since 1998, PEAK has focused on an often overlooked Chicago’s youth: academically average students from our city’s most challenging and under-served neighborhoods. Through a rigorous interview process, we look to identify incoming freshmen who demonstrate the grit, ability and desire necessary to flourish in life if only given financial, educational and personal support through their high school years. For over 20 years now, PEAK has proven successful in changing life’s narrative for hundreds of scholars. PEAK's unique approach combines a four-year full-tuition high school scholarship with an award-winning mentoring program. PEAK mentors are paired with a scholar at the start of freshman year and commit to this 1:1 relationship for all four years. Since inception, PEAK has partnered with Holy Trinity High School, a Brothers of the Holy Cross School. All of our scholars receive a rigorous values-based education in Holy Trinity's nurturing and academically challenging environment.
