Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As most of you know, Moorfields Eye Hospital is a place I hold very close to my heart. When I was 15 I contracted a Corneal Abscess in my left eye whilst in Egypt. This resulted in scaring and nearly left me blind. The work and commitment of the staff at Moorfields saved my sight and 7 years down the line, 2 corneal transplants, 1 cataract operation and countless number of checkups, eye tests and  eyedrops later, I have gained pretty much most of my sight back. This would have been impossible without Moorfields.

So, for the medical staff who helped me and for patients present and future, my Dad and I are looking to run the Royal Parks Half Marathon on Ocotber 6th. We are looking to support the hospital as whole, but we particularly are interested in the advancement of transplant surgery and aftercare,  alongside eye donations. Unfortunately there is a shortage each year of eye donations, so your consideration toward donation would be amazing too. We may not complete this in a great time, but the important thing is that we WILL complete the race, together.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now. Any donation is a great help and any consideration to organ donation is a step in the right direction. I know I was willing to take a donation in my hour of need, would you do the same? Thank you for your support.

Wish us luck :D
