Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
So, my first attempt on 20th March was rained/clouded off, so I have rescheduled the jump for 1st May - fingers tightly crossed for good weather in Salisbury on that date!!
First off I must point out that jumping out of a plane is not something I would do for fun! There has to be a very, very good reason, so unless I find myself in a Hollywood blockbuster with the plane about to explode and James Bond offers to take me with him, the only reason to jump headlong to the ground is if we raise a good lot of money for charity!
I've chosen to support the Parkinson's Disease Society; for those of you who may not know, my dad had Parkinson's and I'd like to hope that one day they'll find a cure for it - but they can only do that through expensive research. The PDS fund research into the cause, prevention and cure of Parkinson's as well as looking at ways to improve the lives of those with the condition. They provide information, support and advice to patients and carers, as well as education to health and social care professionals.
With my Davina-in-Africa hat well and truly on, here are some ways that our money can help:
£12 will enable one of their Support Workers to give expert advice on benefits to a person with Parkinson's.
£15 will pay for a Parkinson's Disease Nurse Specialist to spend an hour working with someone with Parkinson's.
£25 will pay for a PDS Helpline nurse to take calls for one hour.
£150 will fund a Parkinson's Disease Nurse Specialist for a day.
£1,000 will fund a cutting edge research project into Parkinson's disease for a week.

In a moment of shared madness, my friend at work Jenny agreed to jump with me - and lucky that she did else I'd still be too scared! So please visit her Just Giving page too, she's jumping for another charity that does great work, the NSPCC. http://www.justgiving.com/Jennifer-Moon
