Story
I’m running the London Marathon 2020 with my sister Mehwish Hayat to provide an education to hundreds of underprivileged Pakistani children.
I want to raise £10,000 to rebuild and transform schools in rural Pakistan with Penny Appeal.
£5,000 (Rs. 959,147.44) - Help rebuild ONE classroom
£3,000 (Rs. 57,548,847) - Support Teachers
£1,000 (Rs. 19,182,949) - Provide a library
£500 (Rs. 95,914.74) - Sanitation and Toilets
£250 (Rs. 47,957.37) - Help provide Desk and chairs for children
£50 (Rs. 9,591.474) - Help provide textbooks and stationary
£20 (Rs. 3,836.56) - Donate playing equipment for children
£20,000 (Rs. 3,836,589.74) - Help rebuild ONE full school
I think that education is a universal right for any child. I know how lucky I was to receive an education, and how that has broadened my horizons and given me the confidence to be who I am today.
Education is the bedrock of any society and I know that health issues, poverty and women‘s empowerment - all these issues can be tackled through education.
With 1 in every 3 boys and almost half of all girls in Pakistan not getting an education, I feel strongly that something has to be done. I’m over the moon to be running the marathon as the Penny Appeal Ambassador, to rebuild and transform 5 amazing schools in rural Pakistan.
I’m very, very nervous about running the London Marathon; it will be the biggest challenge of my life! But having visited the schools I will be helping – the faces of those children will ease all the hardships to come. I am doing it for them.
I would be so grateful for every penny you give to sponsor me – and more importantly, the children deserve it!
Together, we will rebuild and transform 5 amazing schools in rural Sindh, which will have space for 618 children to learn every single year.
Thank you for your incredible support – together, we can help transform these children’s lives for the better, for good!
