Hi Everyone,

So, as part of my employers Community 10,000 programme staff have the opportunity to volunteerand spend a day with local voluntary or community organisations and give alittle back to the community. And as my employers vision is -

‘Supporting separated families; securing children’s futures’

I decided to volunteer my time and services on a weekend to the Newcastle United Foundation which uses football’s power to deliver positive change. They use this power to encourage learning and promote healthy lifestyles that will make a real difference to the lives of disadvantaged children, young people and families in our region.

But not only didI volunteer! I took it uponmyself to sign up and actually take part in raising money for the Newcastle United Foundation. This particular fund raising activity happened to be abseiling off St James park stadium roof! which at the time seemed to be a good idea!?:-)
