Danny's 100 Kettlebell Swings a day Lockdown Challenge · 21 April 2020

East Lancashire Hospice provides specialist, supportive and end of life care for patients and their families from Blackburn, Darwen, Hyndburn and Ribble Valley who are coping with a life-limiting illness. To enable us to continue this work, we need to raise £4 million every year.

Story

I have wanted to raise money for charity ever since the start of lockdown but wasn't sure what to do or for whom.  There are lots of people helping the NHS right now, which is a great thing, but what about your local hospice?  The local community nurses who are out there every day coming in to contact with covid sufferers several times a day, some of them even contracting the disease themselves?

So, I have decided, that I will perform 100 kettlebell swings a day, filmed by either my children, or wife (Who works in the community) to help raise funds for the Hospice.

What is a Kettlebell Swing?

Kettlebell swing is a basic ballistic exercise used to train the posterior chain in a manner similar to broad jumping. It involves moving the bell in a pendulum motion from between the knees to anywhere between eye level to fully overhead and can be performed either two-handed or using one hand.  IN SHORT, IT IS AN EXERCISE THAT TAKES LOTS OF EFFORT AND CAN BE VERY TIRING VERY QUICKLY.

Please help me, to help all the nurses and staff at The East Lancashire Hospice, to raise money to help those that have suffered due to the horrible horrible disease that is Coronovirus
