Story
My story started in 2011 when my mother gave up her battle with cancer. She had previously suffered with it and also lost her husband Bill Scone to it in 2001.
Following her death I started my own health kick and ran the Wales Marathon in 2013 raising money for Cancer Research in memory of my mum and then doing Ironman Wales in 2014 raising funds for Neonatal Marfan Syndrome for Alfi Morris.
In 2017 I am doing two events.
DCHIC (Dennis Cafe/Darren Creese Half Iron Challenge) on Saturday July 8th at the Dennis Cafe, Castle Beach Tenby. I will be swimming 1.2 miles from South Beach to Castle Beach, and then riding 56 miles and running 13 miles in the Dennis Cafe. All are welcome to shout me on, donate for Macmillan or just sit and have a cuppa. We raised £705.14 so thank you so much everyone.
IMW2017 (Ironman Wales) on Sunday September 10th. This involves swimming 2.4 miles from the North Beach, Tenby, cycling 112 miles around Pembrokeshire and running 26.2 miles all within 17 hours.
Thank you for any contributions you can make.
Darren
Thank you for choosing to support me and Macmillan Cancer Support. Just so you know, 30% of the sponsorship that I collect (up to the cost of my entry fee) will be reimbursed. This means that Macmillan receives 70% or more of my sponsorship.
Reimbursing 30% of my sponsorship (up to the cost of my entry fee) is a safe way of fundraising for the charity as it can be cheaper than the cost of a charity package! If you have any questions about my fundraising or why your donations may be used in this way, please don't hesitate to contact Macmillan directly at triathlon@macmillan.org.uk.
