I have just started working as an a Events Fundraiser for The Deaf Health Charity SignHealth and will be helping to organise the first Amersham Christmas Pudding Race on Sunday 14th December in Old Amersham.  

As I will be organising it, I won't be able to run or walk the race, so I have decided that I need to be my bit to raise some money for the charity. This is why I am growing a moustache in the month of November and dying it pink and purple which are The Deaf Health Charity SignHealth's colours. I was going to dye it red and green to be Christmassy but green hair dye isn't easy to come by.

So why do SignHealth need the money and what will they do with the money that is raised?

SignHealth works to give Deaf children the same healthy future as their hearing friends.  

Their research into the health of Deaf people has shown that problems communicating at doctors' surgeries and hospitals is cutting short the lives of many deaf people.  And isolation is a real problem for Deaf children, and can lead to mental illness and poorer health in adult life.  

With your support, SignHealth will be able to continue to campaign for changes to give Deaf children an equal chance of a healthy life. It will also ensure that SignHealth is able to provide essential services and projects to help Deaf adults who've grwon up in a world of inequality.
