Story

I am raising money for Poole Critical Care Unit , I am doing this by cycling from London to Paris with my friend Paul Teague from 8th May to 13th May 2013 and I am aiming to raise £1400 if not more! And with this I would like to share my story with you why Im raising the money for such a great cause.

Back on the 31st October my dad fell down 4 steps and went head first into a wall , who knew 4 simple steps would change a man and his families life style so quickly.

I rushed my dad into hospital in which paramedics helped him out of the car because he said he unable to move, from there they took him in to have X-Rays and MRI scans. The results came through that he had Core 2 breaking of the neck which is also known as The Hangmans Break. The Doctors rushed him through to the Critical Care unit, where he was attached to heart monitors and breathing monitors . He was under 24 hour observation with a one-to-one nurse who was there for his every need. My dads scans were sent to Southampton Critical Care , where they stated he had to have a halo fitted ( as you can see from the photo).

The Poole Critical Care Unit doctors told my dad "there are two ways you should come out of this break the first is paralysed from the shoulders down , the second is you should be dead".

Thankfully to Poole Critical Cares quick reactions my dad is still alive and not paralysed and they are helping him towards a slow and long recovery. Our Family could not be more greatful for this !?!

ANY DONIATION will be appreciated on behalf of my family and myself , hospitals do not get enough recognition for what they do and this is my way of showing  how greatful I am for them.
