Thank You for taking the time to visit my page.
My girlfriend is a cancer survivor and I am so proud of her for fighting and beating cancer.
For those who do not know this year mine and my partners life was turned upside down when my gorgeous girlfriend Mellie was diagnosed with a rare grade 3 Epithelioid sarcoma (Soft tissue Cancer).
Initially it started out as a slight pain in her calf muscle over Christmas, which progressed over 6months and became a constant unremitting pain where she could hardly walk or sleep.
After months of misdiagnosis and hospital appointments, she was diagnosed with cancer 6 months later and was faced with the devastating decision that to save her life she would need to have life changing surgery. This has been the worst time in my life, let alone my partner's. One that will live with me forever as I felt literally helpless.
Since her diagnosis she has now been told that as of October 2016 she is in complete remission and standing up to cancer.
Words cannot describe how proud and brave my girlfriend has been and continues to be through this life changing process. Without the support of family, friends and the wonderful Macmillan cancer support staff, I truly believe she wouldn't of been the shining light and inspiration that she is and for so many others who have gone through this harrowing experience.
No one should face cancer alone, for this reason I am running the London Marathon in support of everyone who has been touched by cancer. As well as supporting Mellie to show her that with commitment and positivity you can achieve anything you set your mind too.
Please help support me in turning the worst year of our lives into a positive. Help others to not fight cancer alone by raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support - Every little helps.
Thank You
Darren
