Story
OK, for those of you that know me from way back might remember that I used to cycle 12 miles a day to and from school for over a year. ( I used to go home for lunch!). Then when we uprooted from Watford and moved to Bournemouth I was regulary cycling to the beach with some great mates during the summer holidays, which was a 22 mile round trip. Well, since then I havent had a need to get back on the saddle.......until now. You see football took it's place and I was playing 4 times a week which has taken it's toll on my poor old knees.
So, with everyone filing out bucket lists I decided to do something for charity this year and 'roll back the years' so to speak and cycle a good 10 miles.
Secondly, cancer is most likely going to be something that one of us is going to have to face in our lifetime. Having known some people who have battled with cancer and seen the horror it put them through, I could not think of a better cause to raise funds for.
So give freely, dont feel pressurised but I would love to raise a zillion pounds but know that any donation will be gratefully received. :-) My target donation may not change the world but I wanted to do something and anything is better than nothing...........if you know what I mean.
10 miles? Practice? Training? Are they mad?! Watch this space......
P.S. If I raise £100 by the 1st July........I'll do 20 miles and spend the rest of the summer in traction!
