Hi guys,

The reason behind why we are doing this and why we have chosen this charity in particular.  A few years back our grandad passed away with heart failure, Dav’s dad had a heart attack at the same time and Reii’s mum also a sufferer of an inefficient heart. So, being of Indian descent and all that lovely food filled with sugar and ghee eaten at a young age which heightens our risk of cardiovascular problems in later life means that we’re all at risk of heart failure. Yes, we know better now and do everything possible to help ourselves and our children stay healthy, we’ve changed our diets and maintain a healthy lifestyle, BUT we wanted to do something more and give back and help to raise awareness of heart failure and that’s why we decided to run the Birmingham Half Marathon this October in the hope of raising funds for the fantastic charity Pumping Marvellous. 

Pumping Marvellous is a charity quite literally close to our hearts, it helps support patients with the diagnosis of heart failure and their carers and families too. With nearly 1 million people in the UK with Heart Failure as a condition where prognosis is often poor and symptoms debilitating Pumping Marvellous brings HOPE to all the people it helps, hope for a cure, hope to manage the condition and most importantly it gives hope to all the people suffering by given them a voice and raising awareness of such a wide and debilitating condition.

So we ask for your support by giving as much as you can to help us raise funds for such a fantastic cause, which we are sure has affected your lives as much as ours. In return we will train to reach peak physical fitness and finish this run as quickly as possible and your more than welcome to come and show your support on the day at the start, end or even on Reii’s road!
