Story
Following my career in the armed forces spanning over 22 years, I
willingly hung-up my running shoes and semi-retired from most things
physical. However, as I recently turned 50 and my waistline has matured I thought it was about time I took my fitness and health more seriously. Starting running again has helped me physically as well as mentally and strangely I seem to enjoy it!. I was challenged by a dear friend to enter the 10 mile Folkestone run in April. I have never done an event like this and my only recent challenges seem to be eating my wife’s cooking and baking! This has ultimately led to the decision to resurrect my fitness regime and reduce my waistline. In order to spur me on I wanted to raise money for a worthwhile charity and one I have grown to understand and respect - Mission Aviation Fellowship. My wife Sharon is employed by MAF and has been there for over 10 years. As you will read, MAF really does make a difference to men, women and children living in isolated parts of the world bringing hope, help and healing.
