Raising fund for the Butterfly Appeal at York Hospital

Simplyhealth Great North Run 2019 · 8 September 2019 ·
Last Christmas my wife Lisa and I suffered the loss of our unborn daughter, Niamh Alexandra, as a result of Edwards Syndrome. Through this difficult time the staff at York Teaching Hospital were fantastic in the care, devotion and professionalism they showed.
Whilst these staff are employed by the NHS much of what they are able to do is as a result of charity and charitable donations. Therefore, in order to repay them and to allow them to continue their excellent work in the future I will be seeking sponsorship for running the Leeds 1/2 Marathon in May, the Hull 1/2 Marathon in June, the Dalby Forest No Ego Challenge 1/2 Marathon in July, The Great North Run in September and the Yorkshire 10 Mile in October; a combined distance or around 100km.
Thank you for helping to make a difference.York Teaching Hospital want to provide the families who will sadly suffer a loss of their baby at our hospital each year somewhere they feel safe and cared for. We want them to have somewhere comfortable and quiet to sleep, somewhere with space to walk and space to sit, somewhere with access to fresh air, somewhere they can have family visit and somewhere we can give them quality time to start to say goodbye to their baby and begin their journey of grief.
