23 Cdo HQ Bty RA - Ex GIBRALTAR SORTIE · 28 May 2017

We exist to give a lifetime of support to the wider Army family, regardless of where or when a soldier served. We act swiftly and efficiently in providing support in the form of grants to those who find themselves in real need. We also provide grants to charities who support the wider Army family.

Story

23 Cdo HQ Bty RA is based in Plymouth and has the battle honour of Gibraltar (1779-1783). 22 members of the Battery, consisting of experienced and novice riders will be cycling from Calais to Gibraltar, covering 1500+miles in 15 days in June/July.

A vast amount of preparation, including training has had to occur alongside work commitments which has meant a lot of personal sacrifices. All for a great cause. Riding in excess of 100miles a day for 15 days is a serious undertaking and is the equivalent of running a marathon each day!

We will be camping along the route, with a dedicated support crew who are vital to the success of the expedition.

We will stop to pay our respects to our Commando hertigage at St Nazaire before learning about the Great Seige whilst in Gibraltar.
