Bethesda provides 4 hospice beds for specialist palliative care and 30 long-term care home beds. It is required to raise over £470,000 per year to keep the hospice open and offers a much needed and caring service to those who are terminally ill and those who require nursing care.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On 23rd March 2011 my Dad passed away after a battle with cancer. I managed to spend the last few weeks of his life with him in the Bethesda hospice & saw first hand the amazing work that goes on there.

Bethesda constantly needs funds to keep the doors open & continue to be such a blessing to our community. I will never forget all they did for Dad so I intend to run the brutal Harris course in his memory & to give a little back for the care home that blessed him & us so much.

A half Marathon may not seem like a big undertaking but with two dodgy and quite painful knees the two months training and Harris hills is going to be a considerable challenge for my body.

Please, please, dig deep & help be the blessing to the next family who find themselves caring for a loved one in Bethesda.

Thank you so much

David
