To Celebrate the life of David Hayes

Mike Hayes is raising money for Lymphoma Research Trust
In memory of David Hayes
The Lymphoma Research Trust supports research into the treatment of lymphoma. It makes grants to researchers at the Lymphoma Trials Office based at University College London, and also to doctors at other universities and hospitals in the UK.

Story

Thank you all for taking the time to visit David's JustGiving page.

In 2021 David was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. David underwent a variety of chemotherapy treatments, all of which he was unresponsive to. Unfortunately the cancer then transformed to a more aggressive form.

David was subsequently given the opportunity to undergo an innovative specialised treatment called CAR-T Cell Therapy. This is currently only available to a limited number of patients, and administered in only a few hospitals in the UK.

Unfortunately David was also unresponsive to this treatment despite the best efforts of the specialist team at the University College Hospital London. On completion of the treatment, David was transferred back to Southampton General Hospital. At this time David's health quickly deteriorated, and he passed away peacefully with Kathleen, Stewart, Michael and his brother Philip at his bedside on the 31/08/22.

We are raising money for the Lymphoma Research Trust because the research they support leads to the creation of new specialist lymphoma treatments which are critical to patients in the future; in addition they make grants to medical researchers who organise clinical trials. The information gained from these trials improves  knowledge of lymphoma and enables patients to be treated more effectively.

Thank you for your donations.

Kathleen, Stewart and Michael.
