The Deed is Done! - 10th May 2013
- but the fundraising continues apace
My goodness, what can I say? I am truly overwhelmed by everyone's generosity. We raised the £500 target within 48 hours of going live and since as I am a man of my word, I am now sporting obscenely bright RED hair!
Now for the moment you have all been waiting for....the photos! I've attached a number of them for your enjoyment. Let the teasing commence! :)
I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you who have supported this great cause. I would also like to thank Guy at Sandra's Hairdressers in Dingwall for taking time out of his busy schedule and creating my new hairdo. Last but by no means least, I'd like to thank Romay Williams and those many colleagues and friends who have been tireless in their help and support with this.
Please continue to share the page and spread the word, I know we have hit the target and D (Dye) Day has been and gone, however any further monies we can raise for the Red Cross would be truly incredible and put to a very worthwhile use.
Thank you again. Please share this page with your friends.
David
UPDATE - 7th May 2013 Thanks to your overwhelming response and generosity it is looking increasingly likely that on Friday 10 May at 4pm I will be dying my hair red! At that point there will be two bottles of hair dye, number one will be a simple wash in, wash out, number two a semi-permanent (likely to last for at least a month). If the target is exceeded and you continue to give I will use bottle number two and increase my public humiliation even more!
Now, if we get to £1000! ....any ideas?
What ho all! You may or may not be aware that the British Red Cross annual fundraising extravaganza - Red Cross Week - is taking place from 5 - 11 May. Each year people use their talent, passion and hard work to raise thousands of pounds during the week to help people in crisis.
So, you may ask, what might I, David Houston, be doing to support this worthwhile cause?
The answer is simple:
Red. Hair.
That’s right, if all you generous people out there can find a few pounds lurking down the side of your sofa or in your back pocket and we manage to raise £500 I will be dying my hair RED!
In addition to the privilege of seeing me with red hair your donation could help the victims of fire and flooding here in the UK, or give life-saving medication to cholera sufferers in Sierra Leone.
So please dig deep and keep checking back to see how it is going, once the target is met I will post pictures here for your entertainment and to show I have kept my side of the bargain!
Many thanks.
David
