Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page, in memory of Sue.
As you'll know Sue passed away on the 9th August 2009 aged just 42, after an all too short fight against breast cancer.
Her last 25 days were spent in Forest Holme hospice in Poole, as a family we cannot begin to tell you how wonderful an experience that was given the circumstances.
Sue charged us with raising money for them so to ensure that others may have the opportunity to experience what we did, in their hour of need.
Sue was desperate to leave a legacy, so her name stood for something (She wasn't at all vain!!)
We have taken up the mantle to raise enough money to replace the 10 patient analog TV's in her memory, which will become obsolete when the digital swith over happens, with new digital freeview TV/DVD's.
So far we have raised:
From donations in lieu of flowers as Sue requested we raised £805.
Jane & Graham Elliott, of Peterborough, held a pink party, which I attended and they donated 50% of the proceeds, raising another magnificent £710.
I rounded this up to make a grand total so far handed over to Forest Holme of £1600, on the understanding this money is to be used for the replacement of the TV's.
We have taken it upon ourselves to raise the remainder required to replace them, the total cost is still to be finalised as quotes are still being obtained, but it will be in excess of £3000, so we are potentially about halfway!!
We appreciate times are not a plenty, but any donation however small, we can assure you will be greatfully received, OR if you wish to raise funds yourself, for example running a marathon/holding a coffee morning etc in memory of Sue even better and when we finally get to replace the TV's, the benefit will be very much appreciated by patients for years to come at Forest Holme, so you can be assured your donations/efforts WILL make a difference.
