Story
After much thought, maybe a late midlife crisis and the realization of how much Macmillan has done for my family I’ve decided to take the plunge and run the London Marathon 2018, for Macmillan.
As most of you know, my family and I have had immense support from Macmillan over the last 10 years, and the difference they made was immeasurable. Macmillan’s fantastic staff were only a
phone call away and they were selfless in their care for my late wife, Lou and then myself. Three years on from my illness I now feel strong enough to complete this run and the opportunity to show my gratitude for all Macmillan have done for us is my motivation.
So yes, I am asking if you would be so kind as to donate anything you can and if you can't any encouragement will be gratefully received, no matter how rude! And please be aware that this is a one off! This is definitely not my new hobby, just an opportunity to celebrate my
health, remember Lou and repay Macmillan's kindness.
I shall keep you updated about my training and I can send pictures of my blisters if you ask nicely.
Thanks for reading. Love Dave x
