Story
Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page.
I'm running the marathon in memory of my Dad, Freddy, who as many of you will know tragically passed away in September last year. He was a fit and healthy man, a keen skier, loving husband, supportive father, doting grandpa, and a generally really nice guy - cut down as he was looking forward to retirement and a more relaxing life. He suffered from retroperitoneal liposarcoma, a rare cancer, which had been growing inside him, undetected, for up to 10 years. The main tumour, when it was taken out was 6.5 kg!!
Throughout his battle against cancer he received the most fantastic and cutting edge care at the Royal Marsden Hospital, Europe's leading Cancer hospital. He simply would not stop fighting. The Insitute of Cancer Research and the Royal Marsden work in partnership as the worlds leading academic drug discovery unit. Supporting them brings the prospect of defeating cancer that much closer. I know that Freddy would have really supported this cause, providing others with the opportunity to benefit from the same outstanding level of treatment and care he was provided with.
