Story

On 5th August 2015 my wife Leanne gave birth to our beautiful twins Evie (weighing 2lb 7oz) and Noah (weighing 2lb 14oz) but as they were nearly 12 weeks premature they required Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) treatment. Noah was unfortunately separated from his big sister Evie on his birthday as there wasn't a spare incubator in Tameside General Hospital to support him. Noah was transferred to Royal Oldham Hospital NICU and his big sister Evie luckily followed him the day after.

Since 6th August 2015 Evie and Noah have both received incredible support and care from all the staff in Royal Oldham Hospital NICU. We would like to help more babies like Evie and Noah by trying to raise enough money to buy another NICU incubator so that hospital staff can continue with the amazing work that the NICU do each and every day.

All money raised will be donated to the Royal Oldham Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit to help buy an incubator so that more babies like Evie and Noah can be cared for.

We have therefore set up the Life and Comfort page to help raise the funds needed. The origin of Life and Comfort is simple;

The meaning of the name Evie is: Life

The meaning of the name Noah is: Comfort

With the support of family, friends and the wider community, our aim is to complete a variety of different fundraising events over the next 12 months to try and raise our extremely challenging target of £15,000 which is the cost of just one incubator. We are therefore planning to complete at least 1 event per month so we will be continually updating everyone as to what our fundraising events are going to be, and when and where they will be taking place.

Please give as little or as much as you can to help support this fantastic cause as either a standing order payment each month for the next 12 months or as a one off payment.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thanks in anticipation of your support.
