We promote and support good mental health within the areas of Northampton, Corby, Daventry, East Northants, Rushden, South Northants, and Wellingborough through the provision of a range of services which promote individual progression, recovery, and campaign for better mental health for all.

Story

Since the launch of action for happiness I have wanted to develop some type of social  movement in my home town of Northampton  to promote happiness. A GREAT DREAM (  the first letter is the first letter of the 10 keys to happiness)  for Northampton.

As a GP  I have become increasingly aware of the health service being much more a illness management service and that health lies more in communities and personal choice.  Choosing how I think and behave has helped me manage my own moods  and something I encourage for those around me and my patients.

As a group in Northampton we hope to  achieve a social movement through : 1. Promote Action for Happiness Schools programme  for teachers and pupils 2. Gatherings in workplaces  to discuss actions and encourage people to take pledges 3  Developing  happiness cafes 4  Running what matters courses.

Last year I did  a smaller cycle and was able to raise £500 and so I'm being more ambitious to try to raise £1000 this year. Funding will go towards projects towards developing a social movement,  towards a GREAT DREAM for Northampton
