Rockinghorse is a Brighton-based charity which has been supporting children for over 50 years. It was set up in 1967 by Dr Trevor Mann to improve healthcare services for sick children and babies. The charity fundraises for items for every child's treatment, from toys to life-saving equipment.

Story

OK, so today (3/7/12) is the 6 month anniversary of my weight loss challenge – I weighed in this morning at 82.2 kg’s (12 stone 13 lb’s), down from 94.4kg's.  The bad news is I missed my target by 2.2 kg’s (4lbs). The good news is I have lost 12.2kg’s (1 stone 13 lb’s) since January 3.

 Furthermore, this makes me 22kg’s (3 stone 6.5lb’s) lighter than I was at my worst in May 2007, too! (Big fat fatty!)

 Attached are some rather lovely (although poor quality) snaps of me looking buff this morning!

 Thanks for the support - from me, the Trevor Mann Baby Unit, the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital and Rockinghorse Children’s Charity.

PS – just in case you’re wondering, my health programme will continue this year and I aim to be sub 80kg’s by Xmas!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rockinghorse is special to me because 2 of my kids have spent time in the incubators at the Trevor Mann Baby Unit and all of them have been treated at some point or other at the Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital. Both units are awesome, in every single respect.
WHAT WILL I WEIGH WHEN I’M 41?!
When I was 21 I weighed 70kg’s (11 stone, in old money).  When I was 31 I weighed about 100kg’s (15 stone 11lb’s).
At my worst (May 2007) I weighed 104kg’s (16 stone 6lb’s).
I am sick & tired of being a big fat fatty.  What will I weigh when I’m 41?!
I am seeking sponsorship, on behalf of Rockinghorse, for a 6 month weight loss drive.
On the 3 January 2012 I weighed 94.4kg’s (14 stone 12 lb’s) – I am aiming to be circa 80kg’s (12 stone 8lb’s) on 3 July 2012.
Please sponsor me!
If you sponsor me £1 per lost kg (2.2 lb’s) and I hit my target, you’ll contribute £14 to sick children.  £2 per kg would make it £28, and so on.  If I fail and gain weight it’ll cost you nothing.
If I weigh more than 94.4kg’s on 3 July 2012 I will personally donate £1,000 to Rockinghorse.
(Worst case scenario for sponsors is that I hit my 21 year old weight of 70kg’s. This would cost you £24 at £1 per kg. But how massively unlikely is it that an unfit 40 year old could ever reach that weight again?!. And, besides, wife thinks I was far too skinny then, anyhow…)
Please either sponsor me an amount per kg, or a flat amount regardless of weight loss.   I will collect the money after 3 July, once the result is in.  If I’m uber-buff, I may even frighten people and publish a picture of me at the weigh in in my skimpies…….
Thanks, on behalf of all the little sick children in Sussex.
So please share the love and donate now.
