I am supporting Orchid as I think my story will help to create interest in continuing their help to sufferers, and research.

My hobby is growig orchid plants in a greenhouse.I was at a European Orchid (the flower that is) Conference in Dresden in September 2009 when I was taken ill with a urinary infection. I was later diagnosed with prostate cancer and treated with hormone injections and radiotherapy at St Thomas' and Guys. In June 2010 I suffered a heart attack and had a stent put in at The London Chest Hospital. I then did a heart rehab course of exercises at Newham Hospital and then at Newham Leisure Centre. I have now got back to running with East End Road Runners ( I'm their Chairman). My two hobbies, running and growing orchids, make it seem destined for me to help Orchid with its work.
