Buxton Boys Ride San Francisco to Los Angeles · 22 September 2017

Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.

Story

I recently agreed to take part in a cycling adventure to ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles.

Unsure whether I would be able to complete this challenge I was reluctant to inform anyone before I had completed the journey - possibly one of the hardest things I have ever done! Having completed the challenge on the 4th September, I feel I can share the moments.

As you can imagine going up the hills was hard, especially in the heat of the Californian summer, but coming down was far easier, sometimes at speeds of 40mph (64kmph!).

Here is a short Youtube video made of the journey which I hope will make you all smile.
If you would like to make a donation of between £1 to £5 (more if you wish!) every pound raised will go towards this very worthwhile charity. Please click on the link below to see the video.
