David Abrahamovitch is raising money for Everyman Appeal
In memory of David Abrahamovitch

Everyman is an appeal run by The Institute of Cancer Research (ICR). Every year some 10,000 men lose their lives to prostate cancer and over 2,000 others have their world turned upside down by a diagnosis of testicular cancer. These men are the reason we are fundraising for male specific cancers.

Story

This page is in memory of David Abrahamovitch who sadly died on 23rd May 2010 at the age of 59.

As most of you know, Dave was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer in June 2007.  His diagnosis was a tremendous shock as he was very fit and healthy at the time. Dave fought the disease hard and very bravely; he never gave up and never allowed the disease to affect his life.

I would like to ask you, in Dave's memory, to do two things:

Instead of flowers at his funeral we would appreciate it if you could instead donate to 'Everyman' a charity aimed at raising awareness of prostate and testicular cancer. You can find out more about the charity here.

Also, may I ask all the women reading this page to learn a little about Prostate Cancer and then bully, beg or bribe 5 men "of a certain age" to have a PSA test, a simple non-invasive blood test that helps detect prostate cancer. If Dave had had this test earlier we may not need to have written this page. You can find out more about the test here.

Dave's funeral will be held at 11am on Wednesday 2nd June at City of London Crematorium

Thank you for reading this, and for your support.

With love,

Jacky x
