I am not sure how we got to entering this event, perhaps to celebrate my 50th year or more likely too much beer on the Saturday evening!

On 28th July, John and I will be running/walking/crawling the Lakeland 50 ultra marathon in the beautiful Lake district, 50 grueling miles over the Lake district tracks and trails, to be completed in under 24 hours. We have been training for the last few months but could really do with a couple of years to be properly prepared! We have yomped over hill and dale suffered numerous aches and pains, blisters and some very unpleasant chaffing in very sensitive areas. We have usually got a little lost, but always made it to the pub at the end to re-hydrate.

But seriously this is going to be an extremely difficult challenge and we are both very daunted but excited to give it a go.
